San Jose Science Museum Graphic Arts Competition

The San Jose Science Museum is hosting a graphic arts competition to highlight the blending of art and technology. There will be prizes for most original, most artistic, and most technologically difficult. Click here and here for galleries of past competitions.
Competition Rules : This is a 2-D competition. All drawings must be placed in a 4 x 4 square as provided in the default graphing area of the x-y plane as provided by the software GraphEQ by Peda Software. Free 30 Day trial downloads are available at the peda.com website. All drawings will be presented in front of a judging panel on a computer projector. Students will be required to 'deconstruct' and 'reconstruct' their drawing during their presentation so that the panel can see all of the graphing relations used (and their colors) and their individual effects on the drawing. All drawings must use at least one function or relation that is not included in the standard high school curriculum. The presentation must include a description of this function or relation, its historical provenance, its useage, and the knowledge that the students gained about that function as they applied it to their drawing.
